Areas of Specialty

Motherhood Identity

There is no doubt that the perinatal period is wild. Physiological, hormonal, mental, and relational shifts are running rampant. Not only that, but you are quite literally creating a new identity. This shift is so significant that anthropologist Dana Raphael created a term for it, “matrescence” — which is defined as the process of becoming a mother. While this process is universal, every mother experiences it in their own unique way. Whether you are in the process of trying to conceive or are well into motherhood, still trying to make sense of your new life, I’d be honored to support you in your journey. Read my blog post on motherhood here.

Young Adults

Individuation is the process a person undergoes when creating a sense of individuality separate from the identities of others, beginning to consciously exist in the world. There is a lot going on during this time of life, and these thoughts may be coming up for you:

  • I’m realizing things about my family of origin that I’ve never realized before, and I want to process.

  • This job is not what I expected. What do I do?

  • My faith is struggling. What do I even believe?

This life transition has you feeling overwhelmed, and you’re not sure where to go from here. You’re in the right place — both your season of life and in seeking out counseling. Together we will wrestle with your purpose + identity while strengthening your sense of self through exploration. Learn more here.

COUPLES COUNSELING

Are you and your partner feeling stuck and disconnected? Do you look back on the “good old days” with longing and confusion, wondering what happened and how you can get back to enjoying one another?

Rather, are you and your partner feeling secure but looking to gain skills to keep the relationship safe, strong, and meaningful throughout life’s inevitable ups and downs?

Wherever you are finding yourself, I’d love to see if we could be a good fit. I see couples at all stages and love helping you feel at home in your relationship.

Anxiety + Stress

Are you experiencing excessive worry, nervousness, or stress that’s affecting your daily life? Whether it’s impacting your relationships, job, outlook on life, health, or all of the above, it doesn’t have to be this way. There is hope for change, and you’re not too late. There is no better time to seek out therapy. Together, we will learn more about your anxiety, taking a curious and mindful approach, while building compassion for yourself. I’ll provide psychoeducation on nervous system health and emotional regulation to equip you along the way.

Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)

Have you been told from childhood that you are particularly sensitive? Do you find yourself feeling things more deeply than others, leading you to encounter both internal and external judgment? Do you find yourself more reactive to the world than those around you? If so, it can be easy to focus on the more “inconvenient” aspects of your sensitivity and less on the outstandingly beautiful ones. Together, we’ll walk through the unique intricacies that make up the Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)— such as overstimulation, high stress, and emotional sensitivity— while celebrating its inherent strengths— such as creativity, intuition, and empathy. Understanding and embracing your HSP makeup while implementing helpful coping strategies can help you navigate the world with greater confidence and ease. Read more here.

Fellow Therapists / Therapists in Training

Did you realize how isolating this field would feel when you set out to become a therapist? Our job requires us to be self-aware and growth-oriented, yet a very small percentage of our culture actually seeks this out. Read my post on the isolation of self-awareness here.

Are you feeling near burnout, knowing we are the main “tool” required in this line of work? That’s a lot of pressure, and how we care for ourselves in the midst of this matters SO MUCH.

No matter what you’re experiencing, I’d love to walk through it with you as a fellow imperfect therapist and human being.
